Difficult situation for sure. Lots of variables that are hard to control. I do think you overrate Tinkerbell. Wishing for any politician that thinks beyond their own needs is impossible

"Animal Manure" - oh, and where are those animals coming from if we all need to go veggie? Who manufactures the supplements needed by veggies to maintain their health?

Moreover, about 30 million people in Britain is a historical 'carrying capacity', at the end of the 18th century before the Napoleonic Wars. After the Black Death in the 14th century it was around 10`5 of that number. So perhaps (I am being horrid here!) a 'culling' of the population is perhaps not that bad if we ant to achieve Net Zero ... but people will be well advised to study medieval history, especially agriculture, husbandry, crafts ... oh, and there won't be anything depending on electricity ... sorry, smartphone-addicted chaps and chapesses
