The philosophy of ignoring reality has been the official policy of the Republican Party since the 1950's, as re-engineered by William F. Buckley, who said that facts and science were anathema to the movement.
It's getting to the point where language has no point. Maybe we should revert to grunting, screaming and breaking things, like chimpanzees - oh, I think that's happening already.
