Does that lot, from Starmer and Cooper all the way down, really think 'giving' us a Southport inquiry will mean they don't have to 'give' us one on th Rape Gangs?

It's only half an hour and I get the transcript from Hansard. I thought when I heard about Cooper's enquiry that it might be about the gangs; as you say, we need that too. British scandals use long delay as a way to douse fires.
Oh yes: 'inquiries' are the preferred instrument of British governments to kick the ball into the long grass, or, combining two metaphors: kicking the can down the road so that the worms stay in the can ...
