Found in Phil Baker’s biography of Dennis Wheatley (p.139), a quotation from the First World War:
“The man who commanded Wheatley’s division, General Sir Oliver Nugent, had boasted that a double decker London omnibus would hold all the men he intended to bring home alive.”
It’s not just what the General said, it’s also to whom he dared say it. There was a class who thought they had the right to throw away other people’s lives.
Every young man who died without children was the end of a genetic line.
